Lender Processing Services Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice have reached a non-prosecution agreement in which LPS agreed to pay a total of $35 million in criminal penalties and forfeiture, as well as meet a series of conditions, to address its participation in a six-year scheme to prepare and file more than 1 million fraudulently signed and notarized mortgage-related documents.
