Joy Hatchette, acting commissioner of the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA), announced the appointment of Robert Guynn as the new associate commissioner for insurance fraud and producer enforcement for MIA.
Guynn comes to the insurance administration after a 20-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he was most recently a supervisory special agent at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. During his tenure at the FBI, he specialized in complex fraud schemes, Equal Employment Opportunity and Title VII processes and investigations, public corruption fraud and abuse, and antitrust violations. Prior to joining the FBI in 2004, Guynn had a successful career as an accountant at private-sector companies.
“Rob brings extensive experience as an investigator and a supervisor to the insurance administration,” Hatchette said. “I am looking forward to working with him as he leads our efforts to protect Marylanders from insurance fraud and abuse.”
