The California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) is accepting public comments on its next regulation package, which includes cybersecurity audits and artificial intelligence and insurance company regulations, until June 2 at 5 p.m. PST, at which time comments will no longer be accepted.
The public comment period was announced and opened on May 9, following a meeting that saw the unanimous vote to modify multiple proposed regulations on May 1. This new comment period allows the public to submit formal comments addressing the changes to the proposed text and the additional materials relied upon, according to a press release by the CPPA.
Members of the public, the business community, consumer advocacy groups and other interested parties are encouraged to submit comments and participate in the rulemaking process. The full text of the proposed regulations, along with supporting rulemaking documents, are available on CPPA’s website.
“We are grateful for the robust public participation in the initial comment period and we look forward to additional feedback,” CPPA Executive Director Tom Kemp said in the press release.
More information on this rulemaking package, as well as updates on the rulemaking process, can be found on CPPA’s Laws & Regulations page.
