In a bulletin to insurance license registrants, the Wisconsin Officer of the Commissioner of Insurance said it is adopting electronic license/registration renewal notifications as of Feb. 1, 2021, sending renewal notifications only by email instead of email and U.S. mail.
The bulletin notes if a license or registration expires Jan. 31, 2021, or Feb. 28, 2021, the licensee or registrant will still receive their renewal via email and U.S. mail within 60 days of the expiration date. However, if a license or registration expires on or after March 31, 2021, the licensee or registrant will only receive an electronic renewal notification at their business email address.
It states that licensees and registrants should check their licensing/registration information using the SBS portal at https://sbs.naic.org/solar-external-lookup/license-manager to ensure that their contact information including their business email is accurate and up to date. Licensees and registrants can change their email information by emailing the OCI directly or changing their email with SBS through the SBS portal; individual licensees/registrants can also go to NIPR and submit email changes through https://nipr.com/licensing-center/change-contact-info.
“Section 6.61 (1) and 6.61(15), Adm. Code. states that each intermediary or intermediary firm shall, within 30 days, notify the commissioner of insurance in writing any change in the intermediary's name, residence address, contact email address, business address, or mailing address,” the bulletin states. “You may also refer to the following link for specific guidance on license/registration changes. https://oci.wi.gov/Pages/Agents/UpdateLicenseInformation.aspx#AgentAddress”
