New Mexico insurance office issues notice on fraud assessment

The New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) issued a notice extending the time to pay the state fraud assessment until Oct. 2.

The notice states, “OSI is issuing this notice to extend the deadline to pay the New Mexico Fraud Assessment until Oct. 2, listed on the NAIC Checklist and the OSI website. After Oct. 2, the determined rate of the fraud assessment and fee shall subject the insurer to a penalty of $1,000 per month or part thereof in which the fee remains unpaid.
