Gov. Pat Quinn has signed a bill amending the title insurance law in Illinois. The new law requires that every application for registration of a title insurance agent must include a signed and notarized affidavit of the applicant, affirming that the applicant never has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving a crime of theft or dishonestly.
The bill, SB 2947, was introduced by Sen. William Haine, D-Alton.
