Kentucky looks to license title agents

The Kentucky General Assembly is considering a bill that would require title agents in Kentucky to be licensed by the state’s department of insurance. As the last state to require title agent licensing, the Kentucky Land Title Association and its membership worked with stakeholders to help draft a bill that will be able to address the state’s needs and allow the industry and Kentucky Department of Insurance the flexibility to adopt regulations to handle the state’s unique makeup.
