Appellate court dismisses NYSLTA appeal against NYSDFS

The Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, First Judicial Department has dismissed the New York State Land Title Association’s suit against the New York State Department of Financial Services. The court had previously remanded the case to Justice Eileen Rakower, having found that the department’s 2017 title insurance regulation did not exceed NYSDFS’ regulatory authority.
