An investigation by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau alleged that Indiana-based Meridian Title steered thousands of customers to a title insurer partially owned by three of its executives without disclosing that relationship to consumers.
The company denied any wrongdoing in a statement to The Title Report, but will be paying $1.25 million in consumer redress for its actions.
