Otter Tail and Norman counties in Minnesota have begun eRecording land documents through Simplifile, the company recently announced.
Customers such as title companies, banks and attorneys now will be able to electronically scan, upload, submit and track the status of documents sent to those counties for recording via the Internet. Once the recorder’s office receives the documents online, it then can record and return them back to the submitter through Simplifile in minutes.
“AgCountry has used Simplifile for over a year, and our Ada office is pleased to have Simplifile available in Norman County,” said Mick Thompson, loan officer and branch manager in AgCountry’s Ada office, in a news release. “It’s a fast and accurate way for us to file records with the county on behalf of our customers. Any time we can take advantage of technology to make things more efficient, we’re all for it.”
AgCountry was the first customer to e-record documents in Norman and Otter Tail counties.
“We’re excited to see the continued adoption of eRecording throughout Minnesota. Customers will no longer have to rely on the mail, which can take several days or weeks for documents to be submitted, recorded, and mailed back from a county,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “eRecording through Simplifile is so much easier and more efficient. It allows customers to track the status of their documents and quickly make corrections if necessary to any rejected documents.”
Recording fees and payments also can be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors. High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin eRecording with Simplifile.
