Texas escrow agent sentenced for role in mortgage fraud conspiracy

An investigation by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Fraud Unit has helped convict a Dallas-area escrow officer of felony mortgage fraud.
On July 30, Lacie Devine, a former escrow officer for National Escrow and Title of Dallas, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $3.7 million in restitution to the Federal Housing Association, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and four other mortgage lenders.
