Investor sues title insurer for alleged involvement in investment fraud

The holder of a tenancy-in-common interest in properties in California sued, among others, the title company the seller used for the transactions, arguing the title company knew of the illegal real estate commission and secret markup that was being used to inflate the price of the property. The trial court granted the title insurer’s demurrer and the investor appealed.
