Following a state foreclosure lawsuit over the property on which they defaulted, a New Jersey couple sued a law firm acting as a debt collector for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The law firm moved to dismiss, claiming the Rooker-Feldman doctrine kept the couple from making the same claims against the firm which it did in the state case.
