The U.S. solicitor general filed an amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court, outlining his opinion on an issue that has split the circuit courts: whether a plaintiff must demonstrate that an unearned fee for a real estate settlement services was divided between two or more persons in order to establish a violation of RESPA section 8(b).
